Structural steel is the part of a building nobody sees once the walls go up — which is exactly why the welds have to be right the first time. We've built structural connections for a four-floor commercial tower and everything smaller since.
What this covers
Structural steel welding covers the load-bearing steel that holds a building up: beam-to-column connections, moment frames, bracing, and the structural adjustments that come up mid-build when field conditions don't match the drawings exactly. It's welding where the margin for error is measured against an engineer's stamped calculations, not just whether the joint holds.
Materials & process
We work in structural steel using stick and MIG welding depending on position and joint type, following AWS D1.1 structural welding practices. Every connection is sized and placed to the structural engineer's specification — this isn't a category of work where a welder improvises.
